Psychological Abuse

I’ve started noticing strange looks at school drop-off. Parents are avoiding me and the teachers have started speaking to me carefully, in a way that makes me uncomfortable. Every time, I feel this growing unease.

And then one day, my daughter asks me if I have “a problem with alcohol.” I almost can’t believe what I’m hearing.

And then I realize: my ex has started up again. Even now that we’re separated, he’s still found a way to harm me, isolate me, and make me seem unstable.

What should I do?
  • I decide to talk to a few of my friends about it.

  • I speak to a lawyer about requesting a psychiatric evaluation, with the goal of potentially changing the custody parameters to protect my children.

  • I decide to set boundaries about how often I speak with my ex about the kids.
